Ultimate Genesis (aka GEN) are a cheerful group of mature gamers with emphasis on having a good time while gaming with a good group of friends. We currently play mostly PvE (Player versus Environment) and have only dabbled into PvP (Player versus Player). We currently have a guild established in Guild Wars, a tentative guild in Star Wars The Old Republic, and plans for GEN to be reborn with the ever distant release of Guild Wars 2. While originally Guild Wars only, GEN has since branched out into many different games, such as STEAM, World of Warcraft (closed), Hellgate: London (closed), Warhammer Online (closed). Many of our gamers can be found on XBOX Live or PSN (Playstaion Network) as well.
Ultimate Genesis was founded toward the beginning of the retail existence of the first Guild Wars game (circa mid-2005). Like many guilds, it had fallen into some disuse and became stagnant. Since that time, the guild has changed leadership and was reborn. The guild changed to the American district (back when a district had to be declared). Master Fered, created a website and forged a path for the revitalization of Ultimate Genesis. With a team of dedicated officers, the likes of Mathurin, Brift, Dak, Duck, Alesain, Curatio, as well as countless others, and a strong solid member base, GEN rose again to prime status. The culmination of which was Ultimate Genesis recognized as Guild of the Week in September of 2006.
GEN has shared many strong friendships with guilds such as Guilded Rose [Rose], Knights of the New Republic [KNR], Loki's Ragnarok [LoKi], Fellows of Mythgar [FOM], The House of Black and White [AMMD], Heaven's Death Knights [HDK], and Kings Beyond the Wall [KING]. Ultimate Genesis was the head of a strong alliance, but when interested in Guild Wars grew stagnant, alliance leadership was passed on to the Mature Gaming Association [MGA]. Some guilds have closed their doors (LoKi and HDK) and GEN was happy to absorb them into our member base, and while others have left the alliance, many old friendships remain.
Due to the waning interest in Guild Wars, it was decided that GEN required a paradigm shift in order to survive. Once exclusively a Guild Wars name, GEN evolved into the Ultimate Genesis Gaming Communitiy. Most of the core member base went off to try World of Warcraft, exploring the fresh new world of Azeroth. GEN had a successful showing in WOW for sometime, but the guild has since closed its doors and members have moved into other suitable guilds. Some Guild Wars loyalists remained, while others have tried various other games.
Unfortunately due to security breaches in the e107 website suite which GEN used to use, most of our gaming history has been lost. A new home has been established for the Ultimate Genesis domain on Enjin. Several of the "old guard" remain, and others have moved on. Those remaining look to keep true to the beliefs that Ultimate Genesis was founded upon, and provide a friendly haven for mature gamers. Most of the remaining GEN members anxiously await the ever distant release of Guild Wars 2, and as such we have tried many games, continuing to explore new worlds. Our next plight will be with Bioware's next Star Wars MMORPG: SWTOR. May the Force be with you!
Guild Membership
While not a hard rule, membership is limited to over 18. With some exceptions made for family members (our kids play games too). Our doors are open to all genders, ethnicities, professions, religous preferences, etc. If it sounds like GEN is what you are looking for, please read our guild charter and apply via application. Your application will be reviewed by our officers and a decision will be made. Often times, we will like to do a trial. Which might be a quest, mission, etc. This is to test your mettle, and see if you fit in. We are not elitists, and no penalties (aside from friendly ribbing) are made for dying or causing one of our members to die.
Guild Rules
Guild Rules
Ultimate Genesis only accepts members into its ranks that are of similar personalities, goals and values to its own. All of our members support and follow our guild rules and anyone who cannot, is asked to leave or is removed.
1. Respect the Guild: no action shall be taken by any member which disrespects the guild and what it stands for. If engaged in conversation in-game with non-guild members, or on other forums, it will not be tolerated to speak adversely about the guild. If you are not happy, you are free to voice your opinions to guild leadership or leave. We wish for our members to be happy, and work hard to make it so, if you are not happy with the way things are in the guild, then most likely our guild is not for you.
2. Respect other gamers: both members of the guild and the gaming community. There will be no player bashing amongst members. While we may sometimes call each other a noob, it usually made in good humor. Discrimination of any type will not be tolerated. Language that is disprectful or offensive has no place in the guild chat, the guild forums, or on the voice servers. Exessive profanity is frowned upon. If a user finds something offensive, just mention it to a guild officer, or the member, and it will be handled maturely (this is expected of our members).
3. We do not recruit characters (or toons), we recruit people. We look for good people who make a good fit for the guild. Typically we are not concerned with the character class that the member plays, but rather with the class the player. We prefer that members of our guild do not share dual membership with another guild in a game we play in. If this is the case, it must be stated during the application process.
4. Participation in guild events is encouraged but is not mandatory. Hunts, Raids, Events and other in game activities occur all the time. It is desired that members take place in as many of them as possible, however we understand people have lives and cannot live within the online world . If you are online, and we are having a guild event of some sort, you should be available and participating in it.
5. Leadership roles in Ultimate Genesis are decided based on demonstrated ability as well as the need at the particular time. You can be assured that the guild leadership works hard to make the game more fun for you. While the reason behind every decision may not always be apparent at the moment an order is issued, all orders from officers need to be immediately followed.
6. We are a GROUP of FRIENDS. Supporting your guildmates is expected because they will do the same for you. Ultimate Genesis members understand that sometimes personal character sacrifice is needed for the team to complete a mission. We dont view it as personal sacrifice, however, because we are helping out a friend and that is more important than loot or pixels on a screen. Games come and go. Ultimate Genesis and the friendships forged within remain. (An exception will be made if you are partying with Thena and you go out of the way to pick up dye... she's a junkie and needs her dye fix at all costs.)
7. While we do not have any hard rule on in-game activity, failure to maintain an acceptable level of activity may result in your removal. It is expected that if you will be inactive for a period of time, to inform the guild leadership via the forums, or by informing an officer in-game so he can relay the message for you. If guild membership is at capacity, accounts inactive for a period determined by the guild leadership will be removed to make room for new applicants.
8. Members who cannot follow core rules and standards will be removed from the guild.
9. Members must be at least 18 years old (exceptions will made for family members on a case-by-case basis).
